I’m Charles

I moved with my husband (and now two young sons) back to the very same house in the idyllic suburbs in which I happily grew up. So happily, in fact, that during the decades after leaving home, going to Yale, and working in New York and Japan, my childhood address remained the address on my passport. Now, at long last, I’m home. Literally. We’re just your ordinary family next door. More or less. My passion is drawing, and this blog is, as much as anything, an excuse for me to put pen to paper — or, for the literal-minded, stylus to Wacom tablet. (My work has appeared in books and TV — Nickelodeon, Fox News, NHK, etc.) By day, by the way, I’m an art lawyer, having started my career as an in-house counsel at MoMA. Who would have ever thought that moving back to the suburbs with loved ones would bring me so much bliss? Me, actually. I adored this place in my youth, missed it while away, and savor it now that I’m back (and all the more so with kids). I hope this blog will show why — and entertain you along the way.
